The ground breaking ceremony of the New Port Vila Central Station today 25th January 2024. Officiated by the Prime Minister Hon. Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas, Australian High commissioner H.E. Heidi Bootle, The Vanuatu Police commissioner Colonel Robson Iavro, Chief And Chairman of Vaturisu Council of Chiefs Simeon Poilapa along with the members of Vanuatu Police force.
The role of the Police in a nation is multifaceted and essential for the overall functioning of a society, the Hon. Prime Minister stated in his official statement made at the ceremony. This new Police Station for the city of Port Vila will contribute to providing safe, friendly, peaceful and healthy environment for its citizens and visitors who seek for police assistance whenever they are in need.
This event represents yet another chapter in the close cooperation between Vanuatu and Australia, It is another milestone that is added to the parade of achievements of the Vanuatu - Australia cooperation throughout history.
