    Prime Minister Salwai met with President Timor Leste, Francisco

    Prime Minister Charlot and the Prime Minister of countries Timor Leste invited them to the celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of Popular Consultation and to visit the President of Timor Leste this morning. Mr. Salwai thanked the President for the assistance that the Government and the people of Timor Leste gave to the people of Vanuatu in maintaining close relations with the people of Timor Leste and the Ambassador of Timor Leste in Camberra, Australia. Mr Salwaidit that Vanuatu will celebrate its 49th anniversary of Independence and it will make an official invitation to the President and the Government of Timor Leste to join the people of Vanuatu to celebrate this day. Mr Salwai said yesterday the chief negotiator of the delimitation of the maritime border, Xanana Gusmaoa invited Vanuatu to start from its meeting of the maritime border taking place in Timor Leste. Mr Salwai told the President of Timor Leste that Vanuatu will participate in this meeting because he said that it is a country that is completely independent and they have the right to know where and what place is limited its maritime border. Vanuatu is there to secure its border with the French territory of New Caledonia and Timor Leste is still setting its border with Indonesia and Australia. Mr Salwai had wished the President and their families the government and people of Timor Leste a celebration of success and a prosperous future. The President of Timor Leste tells Mr Salwai that the assistance that Timor Leste gives to Vanuatu is small compared to the strong voices that Vanuatu had made at the international level for the people of Timor-Leste who became a country today He thanked Vanuatu for helping the people of Timor Leste. He thanked Mr Salwai for saying that Timor Leste is pleased with his leadership and continues to talk a lot at the international level about emancipation for countries that have not yet achieved independence. This morning Mr Salwai with the other leaders of the other countries who attended the session of the Parliament to mark the 20th anniversary of the consultation of the population. Timor Leste's Parliament again thanks the Government and people of Vanuatu for the hard time that the people of Timor Leste have suffered and are leading to the United Nations peacekeepers who come to Timor Leste. Timor Leste's parliament says that Vanuatu's support for the independence struggle for the people of Timor Leste goes up to the media level that speaks of the people of Vanuatu. Today August 30 the people of Timor Leste celebrate the 20th anniversary of "popular consultation"
