    The Prime Minister, Hon. Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas hosted the farewell function of Japanese Ambassador to the Republic of Vanuatu H.E Chiba Hirohisa on Friday 27th of October 2023, after over 3 years of service in Vanuatu.
    The farewell function brought together the members of the diplomatic corps.

    Hon Salwai Charlot Tabimasmas, Member for Parliament for Pentecost elected number 27 Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu on Friday 6th of October 2023 by 27 votes in favor.

    The Prime Minister, Honorable Sato Kilman Livtuvanu will be meeting with the French president Emmanuel Macron before this year ends.

    President Macron has sent an official invitation when He congratulated the Honorable Prime Minister Kilman through the French Ambassador in Vanuatu Jean Baptiste Jeanjéne Vilmer.

     

    Both leaders have agreed to work together in rebuilding the hospital in Melsisi Pentecost Island through the Agence Francaise de Development AFD.

    Prime Minister Sato Kilman has indicated to meet with French President Macron before the end of this year.

     

    Prime Minister Sato Kilman Livtuvanu met with Japan’s Ambassador in Vanuatu last week, Chiba Hirohisa who is also the head of the diplomatic Corp in the Country. The discussions between the two leaders was mainly on the aid provided by Japan to Vanuatu. There are a few on going projects funded by Japan government like the Teouma Bridge reconstruction, Santo Hydropower station on the island of Santo, Provision of aid on the navigation equipment and provision on mobile clinic which means there will be vehicles equipped with medical supplies to service the communities.

    The discussions between the two leaders also covered the Fukushima waste discharge on the Pacific Ocean.
